Help Us Plant the Capitol Vegetable Garden!

Help us introduce tens of thousands of people to beauty and bounty of vegetable gardens by sponsoring a plant in the Wisconsin State Capitol Vegetable Garden this year!

Community GroundWorks’ vegetable garden was an exciting addition to the State Capitol landscape last year.   Thousands of visitors walked past each week, stopping to enjoy the changes throughout the season. Young children from area pre-schools learned about the cycle of food production as they played on the Capitol lawn. Food grown at the garden was shared with the Goodman Food Pantry, providing much-needed fresh produce to its customers.

We have been given approval to plant the garden again this year. The Capitol Garden is financed by Community GroundWorks—we grow the plants from seed, purchase soil amendments, and our Madison FarmWorks staff tend the garden all season. Please help us make the 2011 garden possible by honoring a parent for Mother’s or Father’s Day, recognizing  a birthday or even honoring yourself and your love of gardening.

We will send you a card featuring a gorgeous photo of the Capitol Garden bursting with produce. We will also recognize honorees on our website and in our newsletters along with materials made available at the Capitol Garden.   What a lovely way to honor someone you love!

Give $100 or more to receive two tickets to an exclusive Capitol Garden tasting event on the evening of July 20 during the Concert on the Square.  We will set out the blanket, prepare some delicious treats from garden produce and pour you a glass of wine.
