Field Trips & Tours
Community GroundWorks has two exciting field trip sites for schools, community groups, and families. The Troy Kids' Garden is located within Troy Gardens on Madison's north side, while the Goodman Youth Farm is tucked away within Madison's far east side neighborhoods. Each site offers unique, hands-on experiences that allow children and youth of all ages to connect with their food from seed to plate.
Our field trips engage students as active participants in the garden or on the farm. Students build real-world connections to a variety of subjects, from social studies and math to nutrition and art. Field trips can also be tailored to meet classroom learning goals. Some groups schedule one-time field trips, while others visit weekly. Learn more about scheduling a field trip with your class or community group here.
Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled afternoon in the garden or on the farm! New in 2017, Community GroundWorks is thrilled to offer Family Field Trips at the Troy Kids' Garden and Goodman Youth Farm. Each trip will feature hands-on outdoor activities for parents and kids of all ages. Learn more and sign up here.
We offer guided tours of Troy Gardens year-round by request, or take a self-guided tour any time using our trail guide.
