Tours & Field Trips
Interested in learning more about food and nature in the city? Community GroundWorks offers a variety of guided tours and hands-on field trips of Troy Gardens upon request.
Guided Tours of Troy Gardens
We offer guided tours of Troy Gardens year-round by request. Groups may take a tour of the entire Troy Gardens project or choose to focus on one particular area such as our organic CSA farm, award-winning Kids’ Garden, community gardens or urban natural areas.
Tours cost $5/person. To schedule a tour, please email us at email@example.com or call us at 608-240-0409.
Self-Guided or Virtual Tour of Troy Gardens
You are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the land on the The Sol Levin Memorial Trail (new in 2012). Download the beautiful and informative trail brochure or pick one up at the kiosk on the left side of the driveway into the co-housing. If you download it to take a "virtual" tour, please start at #1 (on page 2).
Provide your school class, community center group or church youth group with an opportunity to participate in such popular hands-on activities as harvesting carrots on our farm, wrangling chickens in our Kids’ Garden, smelling flowers in our tallgrass prairie, and making tea in our herb garden.
Field trips are $5/participant, and chaperones are free. Scholarships may be available upon request. To schedule a field trip please contact Kids' Garden Manager, Ginny Hughes at firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-957-9352.
